It has been absolutely ages since I last did a London Fashion Week post, but, as the nights draw in and the coats come out London fashionistas are catching my eye with their pieces.
MONDAY: Leather Paneled Jeans and Leggings
Continuing with the trend that has seen coats and bags mix fabrics leather paneling in jeans and leggings is being seen on the streets. Ordinarily black, these are a night out waiting to happen. The jeans look great and this pair of 2nd Day Jolie Leather Insert Skinny Jeans available on ASOS in reduced from £110 to £71.50.
TUESDAY: Waterfall Jackets
A hangover from the Spring and Summer collections, I think the trendometer missed this trick, as I have seen a lot of waterfall jackets (that can be worn both open and closed) in recent days. I do love the aesthetic and worn open, the fabric and cut adds volume and form to an otherwise flat fronted outfit. This beauty is from River Island and, as this is last season’s style, it has been removed from the website. I recommend picking one up though.
WEDNESDAY : ANKLE BOOTS
Who doesn’t love a good Chelsea boot? No me. I love them. And with so many styles to choose from: elasticated side panels, buckles, patent, chunky heel, you can own a selection that will cater to any situation. These are perhaps my favourites, they are from Church’s and are available from Far Fetch for £350. And what with their design (to last a lifetime) and very helpful shop staff (sending them to be stretched and resoled is all part of the service) I do not think you can go wrong with this purchase.
THURSDAY: The Cardigan
The rise of the cardigan is being helped by the trend of the cardigan coat or “Cardi Coat” or “coatigan” as it is being advertised as over here. Oversizing is a must, and this is one of my favourites, from Free People.
FRIDAY : Floppy Hat
Now this is a little bit of a surprise for me. I have been to so many events I have seen hundreds of fashionistas wearing this hat but over the last week in the City, from Liverpool Street to London Bridge I have seen the style being worn. There is a distinct crossover between work and play fashion. Statement necklaces made the transition very easily. As have the bag and coat trends. The hat I was not expecting to see and, if anything, it just shows that the London City fashionistas are even more bold that I thought. This one is from those lovely people at H & M.
