Being the British Fashionista I spend a lot of time reading fashion magazines, and other blogs from my peers across the world but there is something we have in England that guides our clothing choices and accessory choices more than anything; The Weather. So what is the accessory that we know all about?
That is right, we know our umbrellas. So here are my personal 5 favourite brollies to keep the City fashionstas dry.
The Felix Rey Rain Rain Go Away umbrella was advertised in Elle magazine and, at a very affordable £25 is sold out everywhere in black, and grey including here on Polyvore.
Decorated with Alber Elbaz’s charming illustrations, Lanvin’s colorful umbrella is guaranteed to lift your spirits whatever the weather. Open and close this charming accessory at the touch of a button. Available from Net-a-porter for £85.
I do not think you can go wrong with Orla Kiely and this is one of my favourite umbrellas from the Queen of the Cool Pattern and is available from her own website for £28.50.
Favourite in the city, with the store central by the Bank of England at the Royal Exchange Lulu Guinness lips bags and purses are a popular and chic sight. Her umbrellas are tiny, or slim and fit well into your handbag or tote. This is my favourite, the Bloomsbury, with its bold black and white stripe contrasting the lipstick red. City chic for only £40.
You know those list posts where you list your top 5 or 10 somethings and they all tend to be from different designers, well this is not one of those posts. These are my favourite brollies out there at the moment and I can prove it because my favourite brolly maker Orla Kiely features twice. This is the Kensington Walking Rhododendron umbrella available from John Lewis for £39 and I love it.
Remember that U is for Umbrella and it is a key accessory for the girl about town, especially when that town is London.
