Talk of the Town

When it comes to clutches, I’m always a fan of anything pretty, chic, and just darn right sophisticated. But so we are told in all the fashion magazines the way forward are kitsch clutches.

This is definitely a trend hitting shops at the moment….. Quirky clutches. From fruit-shaped carriers to comic-inspired styles, they’re all over the style scene, and while they may seem like a foreign object when compared to the rest of your wardrobe, I am reliably told that they can actually fit in quite seamlessly. And they’re accessories—so you can always put the watermelon clutch down and step away if you feel uncomfortable…….  I have selected some of the more tamer ones.

Sophie Webster White leather and black patent leather embroidered speech bubble clutch, with detachable strap.

Anya Hindmarch The Custard Cream clutch is the embodiment of our passion for creating luxurious versions of everyday objects. Handmade in Italy, we like to think of it as a beautiful piece of jewellery. An ideal evening clutch, it also comes with a detachable chain strap so it can be worn cross-body during the day.

Lulu Guinness This season, it doesn’t get any more on trend than this eye-catching pink perspex lips clutch. With room for all your party essentials, wear this against strong but neutral colours to let the clutch have the wow factor it deserves.

Aldo Aim for a unique look with this both cute and original Book-shaped evening clutch.
