Wedgewood Blue

ww

There’s nothing I love more than a calming blue and white maxi to wear in this gorgeous UK summertime weather.   The good news is this colour combination is becoming more and more popular in the fashion world.   The official term “Wedgewood Blue” takes its name after the classic Wedgwood china pattern and you can see this pattern everywhere from Roberto Cavalli to Topshop.  Wedgewood fashion trends tend to come and go in and out of fashion but this maxi is definitely a keeper.

THE STORY OF MY DRESS

So you can find this print everywhere, right? Well, of course there is always a drama in my fashion world.   Here goes…… I was doing my weekly shop last weekend in ASDA when I saw a girl wearing this amazing dress.  So in true “I’ve got balls styley” I asked her where she got it. I need not have been sooo presumptuous to think it was even from PRIMARK as it looked like it was from a little boutique. But yes of course it was £13 in PRIMARK!!! And I could have saved myself from the embarrassment. She must have thought me mad approaching her, however whenever I have been stopped in the streets and asked where my outfit is from, I’ve been absolutely thrilled that someone likes my style enough to ask where my outfit is from. So hopefully I made her day rather than scaring her.

So I trotted to my nearest PRIMARK but couldn’t find the said dress…. Agghhhh panic set in as my usual coolness took a back seat, I HAD to find this dress. So in true Mission Impossible style I trekked 30 miles to lakeside and OMGEEEE! there was only 1 left on the shelf… This in my tiny head meant that it was meant to be LOL. The dress has two slits each side of the dress although not too high that you are showing too much leg action.  The dress has a frill over lay at the front and back which is very flattering and has a cream under skirt. (Excuse the ladders and the garden storage).

The sandals are from Pull and Bear. I can’t find them on the website now although I bought them this year.  Check out the current collection here.
