The British Fashionista’s Shopping Guide to: TOWIE

I am an Essex babe born and bred and in the next couple of posts I would love to share the shopping experiences of my home town Brentwood, famed for being the home of the reality TV stars of The Only Way Is Essex #TOWIE, and also one of my favourite hangouts in London, the King’s Road, famed as being of the cool, hip shopping streets frequented by the stars of that other great reality show Made in Chelsea #MIC.

Fashion Crush

But first, before giving you all a “totes amaze” shopping guide, I would like to share my current TOWIE style crush. You cannot open a fashion magazine without see Sam Faiers totally slaying every uber cool trend and every time I see her in a new outfit I go green with envy – she looks amazing! She even appeared with Milly MacIntosh of MIC at the Tesco F + F fashion event in the white crepe blazer I wore to the Paul Gaultier exhibition.

And now let’s go shopping…

It was once a relatively sleepy Essex town, known only to residents and county natives. But thanks to the popularity of hit reality show The Only Way Is Essex, Brentwood has quickly become arguably the most famous town in Essex. And the stars of the ITV2 show are doing their best to slowly but surely take over the town – owning nine establishments in the town at last count.

According to it’s website Minnie’s Boutique is a family run business that was created in the Spring of 2011, Minnies has been a huge success story to date. Set-up by two of the stars of ITV2’s mega-hit show ‘The Only Way is Essex’ – Sam and Billie Faiers – this exclusive boutique has already revolutionised the fashion habits of Essex and beyond.

Minnie’s Boutique  can be found at 8 Ropers Yard, Brentwood, Essex, CM14 4BG

To be honest, the clothes are very high street and very affordable. There are always New Arrivals to tempt you and plenty of accessories, jewellery and shoes to choose from. A must visit if you are in town.

Building on the success of the best boutiques in Essex, Violet Hill’s website offers the same unusual mix of clothing, jewellery, handbags, accessories swimwear and sportswear as the store. Violet Hill’s buyers seek out collections from designers around the world that are both contemporary and unusual and combine them with collections from the best of the more established names as my personal favourites Seafolly and Bibi Bijou.

Violet Hill’s boutique is at 21 Crown St, Brentwood Essex, CM14 4BA

Just around the corner from Minnie’s at 39-41 High Street is one of my GO TO shops Monsoon. And while this isn’t a Brentwood boutique, it is the ideal place to find that finishing touch to an outfit, be it a purse, a scarf or top.

Just along from Monsoon is the salon of TOWIE star Amy Childs at Wilsons Corner, Ingrave Rd, Brentwood, Essex CM15 8AG. Speaking about her shop as she launched it, Amy said: ‘It is classy, elegant, we’ve got chandeliers in there, beautiful wallpaper with all diamonds on it. ‘I’d describe it as sparkly, classy and elegant … just like me. It’s a glam boutique.’

According to her website Lucy’s Boutique is a family run business; the owner is Lucy Mecklenburgh who is well known from the bafta award winning ITV2 show “The Only Way Is Essex”. Lucy has been in the fashion industry from when she left college; she has worked with many top leading brands. She was the face and model of one top London brand from the age of 18.

Lucy is renowned for always looking very glam and elegantly dressed wherever she goes. This has reflected the type of clothes she sells in her shop from swimwear to jewellery to beauty brands.

Lucy’s Boutique can be found on Ongar Road, intersecting the High Street at 14A Ongar Rd, Brentwood CM15 9AX and it absolutely worth a look in on your shopping trip.

And if your feet are still up for a little shop, further along Brentwood High Street and you have a little room in your shopping bags then New Look and Dorothy Perkins are 42 and 67 High Street respectively, so there is no excuse not to find whatever you are looking for when visiting my home town of Brentwood, be it celeb designed swimwear, to fashionsta must haves, to staples.
