K Look Book #11

When it comes to duos some are winners and others not so much. Denim and stripes however really are the best of friends. Both are wardrobe staples in their own right but when combined are very much a dynamic duo. This is one combination that I will utilize for years to come due to its ageless and non-discriminatory nature (ooooo my HR hat is coming through here LOL).

I’ve always been a big lover of stripes, and a Breton stripe skirt is my favourite skirt at the moment especially when I am not really feeling particularly enamoured with my wardrobe. I’ve only just realised that my striped skirt is the first thing hanging in my wardrobe, which was done without any great thought but perhaps was a sub conscious thing as it’s what I grab first usually. Stripes are a great wardrobe staple, and I think everyone should have at least one striped skir. They look as good with a roll neck jumper as they do with a fancy blouse.  Olivia Palermo frequently rocks stripes, both dressed down with denim and on nights out

So in light of the above what a shocker, I’m wearing stripes again!!!!!!  Well I guess  it wouldn’t be a week of posts if there was not at least one black and white striped outfit from me.  I had fun mixing textures and patterns here; in my opinion this is always the key to making an outfit more interesting.  This denim shirt from Gap is one of my favourites and any chance I get to wear it, I take it.

I’ve wanted a striped skirt for ages, and this one from Tesco fits the bill perfectly.  A midi length skirt is perfect for summer, so versatile! I will definitely be taking this on holiday with me, the fabric is perfect, stretchy and thick enough that it holds you in without being heavy.

With the denim top this is the perfect spring outfit, I love clashing materials and colours as this lends a more girly edge to the monochrome trend.
