The monochrome trend we have seen around the globe and which is continually being followed religiously by Fashionista’s has had a sleek update for Spring/Summer 2014. Victoria Beckham showcased separates in this colour combo achieve a minimalist prowess. And when teamed with the right shoe (a peep-toe ankle boot heel) plus a held-under-the-hand bag, is pure sophistication. Geometry, expressed through print, shapes and interesting textures, was present all over the catwalk. The nuance this season is that geometric shapes are appearing within the context of an overall softer rather than the bold, monochrome style that has been around for the last few seasons.
The Kenzo catwalk reveled in block panels of monochrome across shin-length skirts, crop tops and light, luxe outerwear. If the idea of going top-to-toe in this trend leaves you pining for colour then mix in some bright accessories to balance things out.
I cant wait to hit the shops for some more monochrome inspiration. Check out Ms Whitmore looking uba cool.
I love this dress from Topshop which sadly is no longer in the shops as it was last years’ stock but check out their current monochrome collection here.
And here is an ad from Boohoo on the art of wearing monochrome.
