The British Fashionista’s 2014 Calendar

2014 is going to be a fabulous year. Here I have created a calendar of fashion related events, exhibitions and shows that I will be attending. Now, these shows sometimes run from month to month, so I am showing you when I am going. Hope to see you there! And, if you find anything cool you think  I would like to see, send me a Tweet @Keely78 and I will add it to the list. Here is what I have so far! If you know of anything in the Summer, let me know. Hello, my Name is Paul Smith – Design Museum – 15th November – 9th March

This exhibition celebrates Smith’s distinctly British style through the designers he collaborated with and the objects that inspired them.

The Glamour of Bellville Sassoon – The Fashion and Textile Museum – 20th September – 11th January

There is nothing subtle about the designs of Bellville Sassoon, the high-society fashion label that is having a late renaissance thanks to some early eighties retro-styling.

Belinda Bellville and David Sassoon had been the go-to fashion house for posh girls since the 1960s but really hit their stride in the 1980s thanks to a young Princess Diana. Their frilly, off-the-shoulder numbers became a hit and have been popular at weddings and bar mitzvahs ever since.

This exhibition celebrates their idiosyncratic style in all its sumptuous glory.

February

February is going to be a fun time. Not only is it the month of Fashion Weeks with Paris, New York, Milan and London but also the London Fashion Weekend, for which I have tickets to both a catwalk show and a trend show. I cannot wait. Also, still running at Somerset House is the Isabella Blow show. It is going to be jam packed.
